OUR VISION

Mr Motions exists to rewrite the rules of style, with a heartfelt mission where every garment sends a message of care. 

My name is Harriet Paterson, and I want to introduce Mr Motions, a clothing brand specialising in unisex streetwear that launched early 2023. We create fashionable, functional pieces for daily wear affordable whilst maintaining the high quality of competing brands and working towards sustainable development goals.

 

Messages of care to the environment, SDGoal 13.

Firstly, Mr Motions was established with the initiative, called the 'Good Hoods'. Every 'Good Hood’ is made from 20% recycled polyester anti-pill fleece. The use of recycled materials saves approximately four 500ml plastic bottles from landfill, each purchase.

An ever bigger improvement to this initiative is in the works! All future 'GOOD HOODS ED2' designs and collectives will also made from recycled anti-pill fleece. These items will make an even bigger contribution with approximately eight 500ml plastic bottles saved from landfill.

Further, with the help of ‘noissue’ our mailing bags are 100% recyclable, a better alternative to single-use mailers. Every time a customer orders, they can know that their package will be delivered with the Sustainable Development Goal 13, climate action, helping them understand what we stand for as a brand.

 

Messages of care to our customers, SDGoal 10

At Mr Motions, we do not have prescriptive female and male lines. All items are deliberately unisex.

Similiarly, when researching gaps in the market, I found that competing brands focus on the lower end of the sizing scale, so when establishing our upcoming lines, I made sure that sizes stretched from XS to 3XL, which provides a range suitable for everybody leaving customers feeling secure and fulfilled. This inclusivity contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 10, reduced inequalities.

 

Messages of care to women in crisis, SDGoal 1

There are 6,224 people in South Australia experiencing homelessness and 44.1% of those are women. The most basic needs are the ones these women struggle to meet and are essential for maintaining good hygiene, self-confidence, and overall health. However, due to their difficult financial situations, these women often cannot afford to purchase these basic items.

An upcoming initiative focuses on 'sending a message of care to women in crisis.' Every single order placed from now on will result in a 10% profit donation to MumKind. MumKind is an organisation based in South Australia that focuses on providing support and resources which impact the lives of women in crisis.

By commending the organisation's work through donations, Mr Motions is directly contributing to improving the lives of those less fortunate and empowering others, including our customers, to do the same. Sending a message of care. This is one of our most important initiatives, working towards Sustainable Development Goal 1, no poverty.

 

In conclusion, Mr Motions exists to rewrite the rules of style, with a heartfelt mission where every garment sends a message of care. We do this by reducing environmental impact, providing inclusive lines and donating to women in crisis. When conceptualising the brand, I considered it a bit of fun. However, when I shifted towards addressing the gaps in the market and working towards Sustainable Development Goals, I discovered that this hobby could turn into a start-up that would positively impact the world, one order at a time.
